QUESTIONNAIRES

To get to know our users, we started with a questionnaire featuring several questions about their eating habits and nutrition. Based on responses from 74 participants, those who made conscious food choices were also committed to some form of physical activity. Nike Training Club stood out as the most frequently used app, known for its structured workouts and motivating atmosphere.

Afonso needs a way to plan his meals in order to reach his nutritional goals

BENCHMARK FUNCIONAL

In the meal kit market, HelloFresh and Blue Apron are the main players. We analysed how these platforms work: they offer a wide variety of dietary options and meal types, yet there is still room for improvement. By leveraging Nike’s extensive data on users’ fitness goals, workouts, calories burned, and other metrics, we envisioned a more personalised experience, one that adapts meal plans and recipes to each individual’s specific needs and preferences.
USER FLOW

LOW-FI WIREFRAMES

While sketching low-fidelity screens, we explored layout, hierarchy, and interactions. Guided by the Nike Design System, we adapted existing components to maintain consistency while experimenting with different approaches.
MID-FI WIREFRAMES

Plan Order Flow and Recipe Flow
We designed two key flows: the Plan Order Flow, which guides users through purchasing a meal plan with suggested meals tailored to their physical activity and with the option for home delivery; and the Recipe Flow, providing step-by-step cooking instructions along with a ‘hands-free’ mode, allowing users to navigate the app via voice while preparing their meals.

Impact and next steps
Afonso can now plan his meals in line with his nutritional goals using an app that integrates his physical activity data, creating a highly personalised experience. Looking ahead, integrating the app with Microsoft Calendar will help embed it into users’ daily routines. At the same time, introducing Nike into the expanding meal kit industry has unlocked exciting new possibilities for growth and innovation.
